We started out small, with just a few people working for us. As we have grown through the years, our company values have remained the same and we pride ourselves in them (scroll down to read our values).

What Makes Us Different
Wurkplace isn’t like most other outsource service companies, we believe in getting to know our clients before we deliver our solutions to make sure we give the best service possible!
Giving a personal service is important to us, this is why we don’t use any call centres – When you call our number you’ll speak directly to one of our HR or Health & Safety experts, based in the UK, who can help you from the get-go.
We don’t believe in using long-term contracts with any of our clients, we want you to remain in control of your HR and Health & Safety services!
Meet The Wurkplace Experts
Karen Owen
Wurkplace is a nationwide outsourced HR, H&S, Employment Law, Occupational Health, and Online Training service company. We supply the ‘complete’ back office service to our clients to enable them to concentrate on running their business in the knowledge that their other essential business needs are being adhered to.
My previous working experience includes working as a lawyer for 10 years (DWF Solicitors/Wilde & Co) and working for 5 years as Head of of HR/H&S at MHS LLP..
Mark Whitfield
An experienced Director who controls and oversees all business operations, people and ventures.
A leader able to steer a company in the most profitable direction while also implementing its vision, mission and long term goals. I have strong crisis management skills to “save” companies in times of need. My goal is to ensure that companies are constantly moving towards fulfilling their short-term and long-term objectives and does not diverge from its strategic guidelines.
Sarah McCormack
As Head of HR, I am passionate about both providing the best HR service to our clients as well as recruiting, developing and retaining the best Wurkplace team to deliver our vision and goals in all that we do.
We value each and every Client and my role includes continually striving to instill a team ethic of service excellence and delivery.
With over 20 years of HR generalist experience across all disciplines, I have worked across a number of business sectors and understand the importance of robust and practical HR processes and trained, motivated and engaged people in delivering business success.
Qualifications include Chartered Member of the CIPD, Post Graduate Certificate in Education, Saville & Holdsworth OPQ – Level A & Level B (BPS).
Colin Talbot
I am an experienced health and safety professional with experience of working in both the public and private sectors. I am a Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). I have a wealth of experience in dealing with a range of legislation and health and safety-related issues.
My health and safety qualifications include achieving the NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, the NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, and the NEBOSH Fire Safety and Risk Management Certificate.
I am a qualified internal auditor of the ISO 45001:2018 standard for health and safety management and have helped clients achieve ISO certification to this standard.
Amanda Tipping
With over 10 years of HR generalist and management experience, I have worked across a number of business sectors and understand the importance of robust and practical HR processes.
I am extremely passionate about sharing my experiences and coaching clients and their teams through the day to day successful people management, utilising my qualification as an experienced Mental Health First Aider.
Tyler Woods
I joined Wurkplace straight from school at 16 years old in September 2017. I started as a business apprentice and learnt the ins and out of the whole business model, before moving over to a Health and Safety and Marketing admin role.
I have since achieved the CIM Level 3 in Marketing, and have most recently completed my NEBOSH General certificate (Health and Safety). My current role is the co-ordination of the Health and Safety department, and have over 2 years experience within this role.
